Easy DIY S'mores Station
Warm summer nights call for hanging out with friends around the patio fire pit -- which in turn calls for s'mores, of course!
But the part that I hate? I seem to always be the one stuck fumbling with the various boxes and bags, trying to keep everyone supplied with sticky marshmallows and melty chocolate. It's great fun for the kids, but for me? Not so much...
My solution? Setting up a simple DIY s'mores station! It's a super simple way to streamline passing out the s'mores ingredients.
New Square Graham Crackers & Marshmallows
Being that tonight is the first Friday night we've had open in some time, I picked up the fixin's for some s'mores earlier at Walmart -- you know, just in case. Have you seen the new square graham crackers from Nabisco and the square Kraft marshmallows, yet? So smart and innovative! Frankly, I'm shocked that Hershey hasn't started offering square chocolate just for s'more's, yet...
Anyhow, their outside-the-box thinking inspired me to do a little of the same, so I grabbed a few extra supplies to put together some simple s'mores kits:
- some kraft paper favor bags
- a stack of mini aluminum loaf pans
- and a galvanized serving tray
The galvanized serving tray is from the same line as the utensil holder that I used for my indoor herb planter. Isn't it adorable?! I've had my eye on it for awhile, so this was the perfect excuse to take it home with me.
Make Your Own Sticks For S'mores
I also grabbed a couple of sets of inexpensive campfire toasting forks from the camping section, along with some simple jute twine to wrap the handles.
I figured the twine would not only make the forks a little more attractive (not a big deal to the kids, but you know me...), but it would also protect their hands should the forks get a little too hot.
How To Make Individual S'mores Packs
Sure enough, after my daughter's softball game, she started asking if we could have s'mores tonight. So I quickly threw together a bunch of pre-prepped s'mores and tucked them each into one of the little kraft paper bags.
I found that some of the marshmallows are a little thicker than others, making a few of them a tight squeeze, but ultimately it was very simple and easy. The mini loaf pans made organizing them on the tray a little neater and allowed me to still have room for a towel and the campfire forks.
I can't tell you how much nicer it was to just pass out these ready-made s'mores packets to each of the kids. Maybe it wasn't that big of a deal for them, but honestly, I enjoyed our evening so much more because I didn't feel like I was distracted and hurried with other tasks.
And this was just a test drive with my own kids -- I'm sure it will be a lifesaver at one of our summer parties! #winning
Easy DIY S'mores Kits

Any mom that's tried to make s'mores with a group of kids knows it's no easy task. Streamline the process by setting up a DIY s'mores station with these easy individual s'mores packs!
Materials
S'mores Ingredients
S'mores Station Materials
- small kraft paper favor bags
- mini aluminum loaf pans
- galvanized steel serving tray, or similar
- wire campfire forks (optional)
- jute twine (optional)
Instructions
For the s'mores station:
- Open all ingredients, and break the chocolate bars up into square pieces.
- Stack two square graham crackers with one square marshmallow and one square piece of chocolate. Slide the stack into a small kraft paper favor bags.
- Arrange the individual s'mores packs on a serving tray, using the aluminum loaf pans to keep them upright.
For the optional s'mores sticks:
- Wrap the campfire fork handles with jute twine until completely covered. Secure with hot glue.
