I don't know about anyone else but I had diarrhea twice after trying those burgers.
First it was the swiss mushroom when the promotion first started and just yesterday it was the deluxe. Same location.

I had the bacon and cheese one this past Friday. It was pretty good, for 50% off. I'm not sure if I would buy it regular price though. Maybe I'll try the other flavours before this promotion ends.

I had the Bacon and Cheese w/ lettuce and big mac sauce instead of mayo. The patty was a little on the dry side and you can definitely taste the salt. Given the price I cant really complain.
The store I went to, Olive Square-Edmonton, had an another promotion 50% off any McCafe coffee.

Tried the mushroom/swiss and it gave me that sick cholesterol feeling =P.
Not too bad though it reminded me of why I don't often go to McD's. Good for the off treat but definitely not worth $5-6/burger. Much better off at Harvey's or another burger joint

I tried the mushroom / swiss one when I was in the USA last time and I'll NEVER order that one again.
Me and my girlfriend vividly remembers how horrid it tasted.
We both tried the deluxe today. I'd say it was very satisfying and tasty but for the NORMAL price of $5 I think is a little too much.
I think I'll only return to this if there is a BOGO or 50% off deal again like this. Thanks OP!

Well those aren't very good odds. They should see that these things are selling like hot cakes right now and the sales will come to a screeching halt after the promo.

It would completely alter the prices on every menu item.

Was all set to go out and purchase one yesterday, until I made the mistake of reading their nutrition calculator online. Ended up going elsewhere for a pizza slice instead.

I tried two of the bacon and cheese...just the way they come. Just too dried out for my liking, maybe I am spoiled because I work at a restaurant that serves only certified Black Angus beef including our burgers.
I must say that at half price they are a good value but I sure wouldn't pay full price for what I got today. Next time they are on sale I will add some condiments to see if that helps how dried out they are. McDonalds has really stepped up in the coffee department and now they have a decent burger too, if they can find a way to keep it from drying out so badly.

McDealer wrote: ↑No. McDonald's is introducing the Angus Third Pounders they sell in the US. They are not the same as the Angus burgers currently on the menu in Canada (now discontinued, I guess).
The differences include the bun (soft sesame roll instead of crusty tough ciabatta) and the cheese (two slices of melty process instead of one slice of cheddar).
In my opinion it's a much better burger. The ciabatta bun really sucked and the cheddar never really achieved the right texture and cheesiness.
This is going to be expensive for me, because when I'm visiting the States I usually get the Angus Deluxe and pay around $9 for the meal. At home in Canada I just order off the value menu (McDouble or whatever) and spend less than $5. This will change starting tomorrow...
Damn you delicious Angus Third Pounder!!!
WHAT?! Man the Ciabatta bun is my favourite McDonald's burger bun! I dig the texture of them!

Tried the bacon and cheese one. It has TOO much salt. My mouth was so dry for hours after. Tasted pretty good, but probably at the expense of my body. Good price for half off. Would not buy at regular.

Maybe with the chicken it's OK, but with the Angus definitely not. The beef oil soaks right in to the bun, and the thing becomes soggy and disgusting. I had it once and barely finished it, never looked back.
With that being said I had another one today, this time the Deluxe, and I requested no salt. Definitely better, though mine got a bit cold from walking home. It is juicier than last time.
Half price Angus + EFADS 1 for 2 cans + leftover salad = cheap lunch!

Tried the bacon and cheese today - pretty decent.
My gripe: $5.49 regular price. HUGE sign both on the roadside and in-store saying 50% off. The price they charge? $3.00 + tax.
McD cashier: That'll be $3.45 please.
Me: Um.. shouldn't it be half of 5.49 + tax?
McD: That's right... $3.45.
Me: Actually, it's not... half of 5.49 would be $2.75, then tax added on top. (Note I was generous and rounded up :lol
McD: Well that's the sale price sir.
Me: But you're charging me a different price than advertised. May I speak to the manager?
(short interlude)
Manager: How may I help you sir?
Me: Your angus burgers you're advertising for 50% off are more like 45% off.
Manager: $3.00 is the sale price.
Me: But 50% of $5.49 is not $3.00....
Manager: The price on the sign is wrong.
Me: .....

Tried a couple of bacon and cheese burgers this weekend. It was ok the first time, but got sick of it after the second. The price is ok, but I wouldn't pay full price for another. Seriously, just go to Five Guys if you want a decent burger.
