2. The Light, Stockport

With comfy seating and restaurant-worthy grub, The Light offers a super cosy cinema experience, completely surpassing the typical day-old hot dogs and stale Pick N Mix of the past with their unbelievable burgers and tasty pizzas – which are finished off with all the toppings. 3. HOME

A centre for all things art, film and theatre, HOME has multiple spaces within its complex where guests can enjoy a nice bit of entertainment. The cinema is a great spot for catching independent movies, teaming up with Curzon, BFI and MUBI to bring some of the best films to Mancs. It’s the best place in the city to catch something a little different, with regular festivals showcasing great talents – most recently their Spanish film festival ‘¡Viva!‘. 4. Stockport Plaza

A historic cinema which still retains original features (albeit polished up for the modern-day!), Stockport Plaza is a great spot for those who like to feel a bit of nostalgia during their trip to the cinema – all you need to accompany is a bag of Pick N Mix. The restored cinema originally opened way back in the 30s, and now hosts regular screenings of classic movies. Can’t get any more nostalgic than that. Another great choice for city dwellers, Vue provides tons of screens for us to catch the latest blockbuster movies. 6. Ducie Street Warehouse

Formerly known as CULTUREPLEX, Ducie Street Warehouse is a ‘cultural hub’ that acts as an aparthotel, restaurant space, and even a working space for the people of Manchester. Inside, you’ll find uber cool decor, a true Manchester warehouse vibe, and a 36-seat intimate cinema screening space complete with a 4K projector. 7. King Street Townhouse

A beautiful little space that’s perfect for private viewings with friends, King Street Townhouse‘s screening roomoften hosts screenings around special occasions, for example, Christmas and Valentine’s, however, there’s also a number of packages available to enjoy the mini cinema with just your friends. 8. CULTPLEX, GRUB

Previously located in a really cool warehouse space near the Green Quarter, rebranded CULTPLEX at GRUB regularly hosts a schedule of cult classic movies including Tarantino masterpieces, grindhouse hits and general old classics. CULTPLEX has a full and varied schedule of not only film screenings but gaming and comedy too, which can be found here. 9. Savoy, Stockport

Another historical cinema based in Stockport, The Savoy has been completely decked out with all the lavish finishings, with comfy velvet sofas, art deco-style original features throughout the building, all the treats you could dream of, as well as beers and wines to enjoy while winding down to a movie.
